Church News

Harbor Family,

It has been a busy time since returning from the General Assembly.  This is my first post to the window since getting back, so needless to say things have been a little crazy.  That being said, God has really blessed the church with lots of new faces over the summer, even though out attendance was down.  This past Sunday we were back a little closer to what we should be doing.

I am very excited about what is happening at the Harbor these days.  We are really starting to operate in the full swing of twenty-four to double church growth strategy (see earlier post for explanation of the program).  We have our seven team leaders appointed and they are working on filling the slots on their teams.  I encourage you to look at your assessment sheets that you have taken and then contact the leader of the team where you are most gifted to serve.

The seven teams are:
1. Outreach/Evangelism--Becky Kneeland: this team markets all church events through various means.
2. Front Door Team--Windel Ward: this team welcomes people in the parking lot, security, greeters, etc.
3. Creative Team--Tonya Cribbs: this team creates the ambiance of the room to match the event, message.
4. Worship Team--Adam Sanes: this team involves singers, musicians, sound; they lead us in worship.
5. Follow-Up Team--Mark Presley: this team is writing letters, cards, baking and delivering bread, etc.
6. Children's Team--Dean West: this team handles all children's ministries of the church.
7. Youth Team--Josh Cribbs: this team handles all youth ministries of the church.
7b. Small Groups--TBA: this team will provide small group opportunities for discipleship and affinity groups.

At our staff meeting I explained in great detail the way this system works, and I think that many of our leaders are just now starting to come aboard and see the fullness of the plan.  It will work, it we will work it!

I am very excited about the second half of this year.  I really believe that we can consistently show growth as long as we continue help people find their giftedness and calling, if we continue to train them, then release them into ministry we will be amazed at what God will do.  He will surely reward our discipleship efforts.

The Youth Revival is coming up very soon.  It's only a week and a half away.  I know that we are in for a real treat from the Lord.  Please continue to invite your friends and family!

Blessings!

Michael D. Sanes
Pastor, THWC
